Durham Pet typically heads outside for around 30-45+ minutes depending on the dog’s age, breed, fitness + energy level, current mood, weather, air quality etc.  We send photos + videos of your dog’s local adventures.

• Rates vary depending on the above, travel time/distance to your residence, last minute walks or trips booked on short notice, and holidays.

• Durham Pet is flexible on many issues but very firm on scheduling in advance, key + fob exchange and payment before service.

Dog walking + Trail Hiking

Payment is always due upfront before service.

Clients will be invoiced on a monthly schedule before the 1st of every month via Venmo or Cash App and are expected to pay promptly to confirm schedule for the full month. Late payments will result in suspended service.

Overnight pet + Housesitting

Payment is always due upfront before service.

1. Clients are expected to pay either 100% upon booking or 50% deposit upon booking to secure your reservation and 50% the day of departure.

2. Feel free to give us a copy of your flight itinerary so we can track any delays. If you are driving please give exact times you plan to leave and return. Quite often Durham Pet is literally going from client to client and it is incredibly important to have a schedule mapped out by the hour so we can best care for your pets.

3. Plan to give us both a KEY + FOB to make it easy to get in and around your apartment building.

4. Be specific on EXACT departure and returning times to the HOUR and avoid vague estimates like “late morning, early afternoon, sometime in the evening” etc. Be proactive, let us know what time zone you’re going to and communicate any schedule changes in advance.

5. Please do not leave town without paying. We find this consistently happens with couples - please discuss in advance who is paying and Venmo or Cash App our business account. For $0 clients we will no show, be unable to provide service and you will need to reach out to your emergency contact.

Key + FOB exchange

1. Plan to give us both a KEY + FOB to make it easy to get in and around your apartment building. Clients can give to us at the Meet + Greet or leave it for pickup and drop off at the leasing office.

2. Apartment leasing offices are not open 24/7. They will open late and close early with minimal notice due to covid, staffing issues, extreme weather, city events, holidays, Saturdays (typically open late and close early) and Sundays (closed all day). On weekends they will often step away for long periods of time to give tours and be unavailable. Please be familiar with your leasing office hours, read their text messages, emails, paper memos, and follow socials and on-site dog park updates, especially if you are a brand new resident.

3. Durham Pet has numerous clients all over the city and it is not feasible to make an extra trip individually for a key + fob exchange. If absolutely necessary, clients will be charged $25 per key trip.
